Glow in the arc – A Festive Fundraiser

Find out how a magical evening of glitter, lights, and charity fundraising brought the community together for a good cause.

Challenge:

How could we maximise visitor engagement and charity fundraising while participating in the town’s Christmas Light Switch-On event?

Solution:

To create a vibrant and interactive experience, we hosted a ‘Glow in the arc’ event, designed to captivate visitors and encourage participation. The event featured a glitter artist face painter, giving shoppers a sparkling festive makeover, and Snow Show Girls who engaged with visitors, posed for photos, and spread festive cheer throughout the shopping centre.

How we did it

Social Media Management

Graphic Design / Branding

Web Design / PPC / SEO

Content / PR

To further drive engagement, we launched a social media photo competition, encouraging shoppers to share their pictures with the Snow Show Girls. This interactive element not only provided visitors with a fun keepsake but also helped boost our online presence.

In support of our Charity of the Year, Bury St Edmunds Rickshaw, we handed out branded reflective slap bands in exchange for donations, helping to promote both safety and charitable giving. Additionally, visitors who had their faces painted were invited to contribute donations, ensuring multiple touchpoints for fundraising throughout the evening.

RESULTS:

  • +39.1% footfall YOY
  • +69.8% rise on Facebook
  • +145.3% on Instagram YOY
  • +300% increase in website traffic YOY
  • £216.23 raised for our Charity of the Year, +400.4% increase on last year’s event
