Pup Pawtraits at Fremlin Walk

Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love and that doesn’t just need to be your partner.  Over the years alternatives to this national day have become increasingly popular including Galentine’s Day and Palentine’s Day.   The latest trend is Petentine’s Day! With over half the UK population* owning a pet it is no surprise that a large number of people choose to spoil their four-legged friends on Valentine’s Day. 😺💗🐶

Since the pandemic, there has been a rise in dog ownership with 31% of the UK Population owning dog** that is an estimated 13 million dogs! Canine companions make for a great date on Valentine’s Day, after all, who else loves you whether you have bad breath, a bad day, or are in a bad mood?! Dogs are the ultimate keepers of our hearts.

Knowing how popular canine companions are with the residents of Maidstone this was the perfect opportunity to deliver a Valentine’s Day campaign with a difference at Fremlin Walk shopping centre.

We partnered with local dog charity, Fetcher Dog Rescue and a local photography studio, Venture Studios to host a ‘Pup-Up Pawtraits’ event.  The initiative invited pet lovers to bring their furrific friends to have a professional portrait of them taken to mark the special occasion.   The photographs were free but donations to Fetcher Dog Rescue were most gratefully received.

But the campaign didn’t stop there, the dogs at the rescue shelter who are looking for a new home starred in their own pawsome photoshoot and the photos are being shared on Fremlin Walks digital channels in the hope of finding them a paw-fect match!
