Hello spring
Spring flowers in bloom, budding trees and slightly warmer temperatures are more reasons to want to spend time outside as the days get longer. As well as telling yourself to save that easter egg for Easter as you’ve already eaten 5… which were supposed to be for the kids! Yep that’s right, April is just around the corner!
We can see a light at the end of the tunnel for the end of lockdown 3.0, with the month of April marking the reopening of retail establishments, something many business owners have been longing for, but these businesses still need your support. Something as simple as liking and sharing their pages on social media, telling your friends and family and visiting their stores, will mean so much to them.
April is also National Volunteering Month and as cliché as it sounds a lot of organisations really couldn’t do what they do without Volunteers donating their time, which is why we have a whole month dedicated to promoting and celebrating volunteerism.
A well-known benefit of volunteering is the impact it has on the community. Connecting with your community and making it a better place. Even helping out with the smallest of tasks can make a real difference to the lives of people, animals and organisations.
COVID-19 may have affected you this year and it’s now become the perfect time for you to give back, consider your opportunities to build new skills and connections, or even to put your current skills to good use to help someone in the community, or you just have some spare time and want to help someone else. There’s nothing more rewarding than giving back and making a difference, no matter how big or small the gesture.
