Colour of the Year for 2021

I think it’s safe to say that 2020 wasn’t the year we were all expecting, but nevertheless it is one we will all remember, a year which taught us to appreciate the finer things in life and that being kind and supportive is so important.

Looking for the good in bad situations has been a common occurrence throughout 2020, our priorities were re-established and comfy clothes have become acceptable fashion choices, all day every day!

Health care workers and essential workers are our heroes and clapping every Thursday night on our doorsteps at 8pm became the norm, and teachers also got the public recognition they deserve after months of homeschooling.

Captain Tom Moore, the former British Army Officer won the nation’s hearts and raised over £38.9m for NHS Charities Together in the run up to his 100th birthday and a 103 year old had beaten coronavirus and celebrated with a cold beer!

As we move into the new year, we feel slightly more prepared, but our focus remains the same. Pantone have kept this in mind with the release of their Colour of the Year for 2021. Their chosen colours represent a ‘union of strength and positivity’, something we all need as we face the future.

The chosen colours are Pantone 17-5104 Ultimate Gray and Pantone 13-0647 illuminating (a bright yellow). To showcase a tough year, but hopeful and positive that there is light at the end of the tunnel for all.
