Non-essential stores can reopen: will you shop or not?
COVID-19 has changed consumer habits and behaviours. We surveyed 162 customers to help us gain an insight into whether our customers will be returning to our high streets and shopping centres now that non-essential shops have reopened.
Our survey determined that 36.2% of consumers WILL in fact be visiting non-essential shops in a physical environment from the 15th June 2020. 19% of consumers said this is down to the enjoyment of browsing and seeing items physically while 12% said it is down to the shopping ‘experience’.
However, 50.5% of consumers said their time spent shopping will change. Main concerns appear to be other people not adhering to the rules, the risk of catching COVID-19 and socially distancing while in queues.
